Sierra's Bug Adventure

Sedona's more willing to go for the creepy crawlies, but Sierra is interested in some wildlife too. She was beyond thrilled with herself yesterday for catching this moth (butterfly? I think it's a moth). She did really well at being gentle with it and letting it go. Then one of the girls (I'm still not clear who) caught it again and managed to damage a wing, so we had to have a discussion about how incredibly fragile they are and NOT hurting them. We did have fun with this one-time close up look though.

(Yes, her fingernails are orange. Her softball team color is orange and she decided she needed to buy herself some orange nail polish to match her uniform)

Dude, I had to have the same conversation with the kids yesterday. Pretty sure some moths/butterflies at Braden's school have been sacrificed for this lesson to hit home.
